Apply for the West Lothian Rural, Community led Local Development Grant

Welcome to the online application for West Lothian’s Rural, Community led Local Development (RCLLD).

RCLLD supports community-led projects that meet Scottish Government Priorities.

The RCLLD is financed by the Scottish Government Agriculture and Rural Economy Directorate. It is administered by a Local Action Groups (LAG) and supported by a Lead Partner, in this case, West Lothian Council.

To be eligible for funding you must meet the following criteria:

1. My project is based in and/or benefits those in an eligible area of West Lothian.

All areas outside of West Lothian’s main urban areas are eligible. Ineligible areas are Livingston, Bathgate, Linlithgow, Broxburn, and Uphall.

2. I am applying on behalf of an organisation ran by and/or benefiting the local community.

Organisations and groups eligible to apply include, but are not limited to: CICs, SCIOs, development trusts, community groups, volunteer groups, and social enterprises. Individuals and businesses (unless a Community Interest Company or similar) are not eligible.

3. My project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Scottish National Performance Framework and achieve progress towards the Scottish Government’s policy priorities.

Scottish Government Policy Priorities include;

  • Eradicating child poverty
  • Growing the economy
  • Tackling the climate emergency
  • Improving public services

4. My project seeks to advance inclusion, equality and diversity in my local area.
